Curious Flora Nursery is a new nursery with deeply-established roots in the local community and in Bay Area horticulture. We are a production and retail nursery growing a remarkable selection of plants at our 2.5 acre nursery located in Richmond CA. We specialize in California native and Mediterranean climate-sourced plants, as well as heirloom cottage garden classics, and botanical curiosities from around the world. We’re looking for a passionate and experienced horticulturist to join our team and help build on our long tradition of supplying a rare and wonderful assortment of quality plants that have come to define Northern California gardens.

At Curious Flora Nursery we aim to inspire new and experienced gardeners and plant collectors by providing exceptional customer service and the best plants around. As our Retail Manager, you will facilitate this by training and supporting our staff with horticultural knowledge and customer service best practices; you’ll work with our Production managers to ensure that the nursery is well-stocked with beautiful plants, that walkways and tables are tidy, safe, and well-organized, and that the nursery is properly-signed and easy to navigate for customers and staff; you’ll work with our Propagation team to identify market trends and industry developments, talking with customers to guarantee we’re always ahead of the curve in the world of gardening and horticulture; finally, you’ll work with our back office to stay on top of orders, events, sales forecasts, social media/marketing, and tech systems to keep everything running smoothly, even during our spring rush. As you can see, this role is a lynchpin of our operation.
